Pontus Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how LiJordan ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in the Pontus mobile application ("App").

Pontus has no account system and no server of its own, and your training data never leaves your device. The only information that ever goes anywhere is anonymous diagnostics — crash reports and counts of which parts of the App are used — and you can switch those off inside the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information about you. We have no account system, so there is nothing to attach information to, and we ask for nothing: no name, no email address, no phone number.

Specifically, Pontus does not:

  • ask you to create an account or provide an email address
  • include advertising or tracking software, or use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA)
  • collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or health data
  • send us your training data — your personal bests, tables, sessions and contraction marks stay on your device

1.1 Diagnostics

Pontus uses two Google Firebase services, and no others:

  • Crashlytics sends a report when the App crashes: the stack trace, the device model, and the version of iOS and of Pontus.
  • Analytics sends anonymous counts of what happened in the App — a session started or finished, a screen opened, a purchase completed, a failure the App had to swallow. Each event carries the shape of what happened, never its content: a custom table's length, never its name.

Firebase assigns the installation an app instance ID so that these counts can be grouped by device. It is reset when you reinstall the App or turn diagnostics off, is not the Advertising Identifier, and is never joined with data from any other app, company or website. Nothing collected is used for advertising, and nothing is sold.

Never sent: your personal bests, your tables, your session history, your contraction marks, or any text you have typed.

1.2 Turning Diagnostics Off

Open Settings → Privacy & legal in the App and turn off Share diagnostics. It takes effect immediately: both SDKs are told to stop collecting and the app instance ID is reset. Every feature of Pontus keeps working — nothing in the App depends on diagnostics, and nothing else in it uses the network.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores your training data locally so it is there the next time you open it:

  • your personal best results and when they were measured
  • any custom tables you create
  • records of completed and stopped sessions, including any contractions you mark during a hold
  • the training program you start, and which of its days you have completed
  • your app settings, such as theme, countdown length, and the time of your daily reminder

This data never leaves your device. We cannot see it, and we have no way to retrieve it. It may be included in your own encrypted iPhone or iCloud device backup, which is managed by Apple under Apple's terms, not ours.

3. Purchases

Pontus offers an optional subscription and an optional one-time purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your name, payment card, or billing address.

To determine whether you have an active purchase, the App asks Apple's StoreKit framework on your device. Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Notifications

If you allow notifications, the App uses them in two ways. During a session it schedules one at each phase change, as a backup for its spoken cues in case audio is interrupted. Separately, you may turn on a daily reminder to train at a time you choose. Both kinds are created and delivered entirely on your device. There are no push notifications and no notification server.

5. Third-Party Services

Pontus uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, described in Section 1.1 above, and no other third-party SDK. Apple is the only other third party involved, and only for processing purchases through the App Store. Google's handling of diagnostics data is covered by the Firebase privacy documentation.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We hold no personal data, so there is nothing about you for us to retain or delete. Crash reports and anonymous event counts are kept by Firebase for a limited period under Google's retention settings and cannot be traced back to you. You can remove all locally stored training data at any time by deleting the App from your device, and you can stop diagnostics at any time as described in Section 1.2. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription; manage that in your App Store account settings.

7. Children's Privacy

Pontus is not directed at children under 13, and nothing it sends identifies a person, of any age. Breath-hold training carries real risks and is not suitable for children. See our Terms of Use.

8. Your Rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing to request: your training data is already entirely in your own hands, on your own device, and the diagnostics described above are anonymous and cannot be tied to you. You can stop that collection at any time from inside the App, as described in Section 1.2.

9. Updates to This Policy

If a future version of Pontus ever changes how information is handled, we will update this policy and change the effective date above before that version is released.
